Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

CleanClicks does not sell personal information

CleanClicks does not “sell” personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.140(ad)). We do not exchange your personal information for money or other valuable consideration with third parties. We also do not “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by §1798.140(ah). For the full posture across our entire data flow, see our Privacy Policy §4.

Your right to opt out anyway

Under CCPA §1798.135 and analogous opt-out provisions in Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, and Oregon, residents of those states have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information regardless of whether a business actually sells or shares. We honor this right via the methods below.

How to opt out

Method 1: Global Privacy Control (recommended)

CleanClicks honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal at both the browser and server level, as described in Privacy Policy §8. When your browser sends GPC, we treat your visit as an opt-out automatically — no action needed on your part. GPC is supported by Firefox, Brave, and DuckDuckGo browsers natively, and via extensions like Privacy Badger or the Global Privacy Control extension for Chrome, Edge, and Safari.

Method 2: Submit a privacy request

Use our privacy request form and select “Right to opt-out of sale or sharing.” We will process your opt-out within 15 business days per CCPA §1798.135(c).

Method 3: Email us

Email privacy@cleanclicks.io with subject line “Do Not Sell or Share” and your full name plus the email address you have used with CleanClicks (if any). We will process your request within 15 business days.

For authorized agents

If you are an authorized agent submitting an opt-out on behalf of a California resident, use the privacy request form, select “I am an authorized agent representing someone else,” and provide signed written authorization (paste into the agent field or send via reply to our acknowledgment email).

What happens after opt-out

Because CleanClicks does not sell or share personal information in the first place, an opt-out does not change your relationship with us. We continue to provide the service you signed up for. We will not retaliate against you, deny service, charge a different price, or suggest that we will do any of these things because you exercised this right (per CCPA §1798.125 non-discrimination guarantee; equivalent protections in other state statutes).

Universal opt-out mechanisms

In addition to Global Privacy Control, CleanClicks honors any universal opt-out mechanism recognized by the California Privacy Protection Agency (11 CCR §7025), the Colorado Department of Law (4 CCR 904-3, Rule 5), the Connecticut Attorney General, or the equivalent regulator in any state in which a universal opt-out mechanism is required. As of the effective date of this page, Global Privacy Control is the only such mechanism in widespread browser-side deployment.
